YANGON, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar opened Chinese culinary training courses in Nay Pyi Taw and the Mandalay region on Monday, according to the Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture on Tuesday.
Organized by the Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture, the week-long training courses aim to strengthen human resource development in Myanmar's hotel and tourism sector, promote gastronomic tourism, and improve services for international visitors, an official from the ministry told Xinhua.
A total of 120 trainees are participating in the courses in Nay Pyi Taw and the Mandalay region, the official said.
Similar courses will be opened in other major tourism destinations, including Yangon, Taunggyi and Pyin Oo Lwin, in July, he added. ■
