LONDON, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The British government said Friday that its staff in Iran have been "temporarily withdrawn" and its embassy continues to "operate remotely."
In updated travel advice, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) advised against all travel to Iran.
"Due to the security situation, UK staff have been temporarily withdrawn from Iran. Our embassy continues to operate remotely," FCDO said in the advisory.
The FCDO urged British nationals already in the country, whether residents or visitors, to carefully consider their presence there and the risks of staying. ■
