Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping at its core has emphasized safeguarding women’s lawful rights and interests and promoting gender equality and women’s well-rounded development as integral components of Chinese modernization. The legal system for safeguarding women’s rights and interests has been steadily refined and expanded.
The white paper “China’s Achievements in Women’s Well-Rounded Development in the New Era,” released by the State Council Information Office on Oct. 19, reviews China’s progress in this field. It highlights a series of concrete achievements in strengthening the legal foundation, improving law enforcement and judicial protection, and enhancing public legal awareness.
