LHASA, August 2 (Guangming Online)--Now serving as a base for showcasing traditional Tibetan culture, the Shatra Courtyard in Lhasa, southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, plays a central role in preserving and promoting Thangka art - one of the region’s most iconic cultural legacies. According to Dawa Dondrup, Chairman of Xizang Cultural Industry Co., Ltd, Thangka reflects not only folk traditions but also everyday life. Today, it goes beyond cultural preservation: outstanding apprentices from the Thangka Inheritance and Practical Training Base often start their own businesses or join creative centers, turning heritage into livelihoods.
