BEIJING, July 14 (Guangming Online) -- The Global Civilization Initiative is a virtual initiative aimed at fostering dialogue between nations, particularly through cultural exchange, a Georgian official from Lesotho said at the Parallel Forum I of the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting in Beijing on July 12, 2025.
George Gabunia, Chairperson of the Culture Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, said that the People's Republic of China was the first state to recognize Georgian independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
"Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, cooperation between the two countries, and the establishment of diplomatic relations, has been actively developed. There is a special relationship between the Chinese and Georgian peoples, friendship and historical partnership," Gabunia praised the ties between the two countries.
He noted that China is a country with an Asian civilization, unique culture and tradition, achieving the highest levels of development in all areas.
"Its advanced scientific research, robust economy, thriving industry, and high-tech capabilities position China as the world's leading nation," Gabunia added.
Gabunia pointed out that China is a global power and an opportunity not only for China nation, but also for nation-wide. China's experience and positive efforts serve as a foundation for a better world and the proper development of humanity.
He also said that the Global Civilization Initiative is a virtual initiative aimed at fostering dialogue between nations, particularly through cultural exchange.
Themed "Safeguarding Diversity of Human Civilizations for World Peace and Development," the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting has attracted over 600 guests from 140 countries and regions.
