The Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting was held in Beijing on July 10–11. In an exclusive interview following the subforum themed Inter-Civilization Exchanges and Mutual Learning: Cultural Inheritance and Innovation, Lloyd Nyikadzino, Executive Council Member at the International Theatre Institute, highlighted the vital role theater plays in fostering intercultural understanding.

He explained that theater—which encompasses music, costume, design, and performance—has long been a valuable tool for peaceful engagement and soft diplomacy, enabling nations to express their identities and values without conflict. "No culture is at the periphery. No culture is superior. We should live in harmony," Nyikadzino affirmed. He further noted that the International Theatre Institute is dedicated to supporting young artists and promoting theatrical development across the Global South. Emphasizing inclusivity, Nyikadzino called for making theater more accessible worldwide and encouraged deeper exchange through workshops and dialogue.
