On January 1, China joined 25 other nations in signing the Declaration by United Nations in Washington, D.C., signaling its alignment with the Allied Powers and its full commitment to the global fight against fascism.
On February 25, the National Revolutionary Army’s Expeditionary Force was dispatched to Myanmar to support Allied operations against Japanese advances in Southeast Asia. This marked China’s first major overseas military deployment during the war.
