China's economic, social progress in 2024: Robust guarantees for livelihood

The year 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and is a key year for achieving the goals and targets outlined in the 14th Five-Year Plan. China has taken new and solid strides for Chinese modernization.

On the livelihood front, social security measures remained solid and robust, with per capita disposable income nationwide growing by 5.1% in real terms. Support for compulsory education, basic pension, basic medical care, and social assistance was strengthened.
