China's energy transition promoting Belt and Road cooperation in green energy

China's State Council Information Office on Aug. 29, 2024 released a white paper titled "China's Energy Transition" to document the country's successful actions and historic achievements in this field over the past decade.

Under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, China follows the principle of planning together, building together, and benefiting together in energy cooperation, according to the white papaer.

"It is committed to open, green and clean cooperation that pursues high-standard, people-centered, and sustainable development," the white paper noted, "It works together with partner countries to deepen the energy transition, advance green cooperation in the energy sector, and achieve sustainable development. "

The white paper acknowledged the efforts that China advances the green energy cooperation among Belt and Road countries.

Initiated by China, the Belt and Road Energy Partnership includes 33 member countries from across the world, jointly building platforms for high-level energy cooperation, the white paper said.
