Face-changing art is also known as "Bian Lian" in Chinese. This incredible performance is an ancient and mystical Chinese dramatic art that originates from the province of Sichuan in southwest China.

Face-changing is a highly skilled and secretive technique performed by skilled artists, usually as part of Sichuan opera or traditional Chinese opera performances. The art involves the rapid and seamless changing of colorful masks or "face" of the performer with a mere flick of their hand, a wave of a fan, or a turn of the head.

The masks used in face-changing are typically vividly colored, and each mask represents different emotions, characters, or moods. The face-changing artist wears multiple layers of these masks on their face and, through subtle gestures and movements, they change the masks instantaneously. This creates a mesmerizing and almost magical effect as the performer seems to transform right before the audience's eyes, making it appear as if their face is changing on its own.
