China's total retail sales of goods and services, a major indicator of the country's consumption strength, increased by 2.6 percent year on year in the first seven months of 2026, official data showed on Aug. 17, 2026.

Retail sales of services increased by 5 percent in the January-July period from a year earlier, while that of goods rose by 1.1 percent, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
