HANOI, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's rice exports are projected at 7.73 million tons in 2026, local daily An Ninh Thu Do reported on Wednesday, citing the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
About 75 percent of the export volume, or nearly 5.8 million tons, is expected to be high-quality and fragrant rice, the report said.
Rice exports in the first half of 2026 are forecast to reach over 4 million tons, mainly concentrated in January, March and April.
Exports in the second half of the year are estimated at approximately 3.7 million tons, peaking in July, August and September.
Vietnam exported 8.06 million tons of rice in 2025, generating total export revenue of 4.1 billion U.S. dollars, according to the ministry. ■
