Experience the Cultural Charm of the "Aojio Festival"

On February 24, 2025, in Chengmen Town, Cangshan District, Fuzhou, Fujian Province, volunteers of Min Opera culture and elderly people celebrated the traditional "Aojio Festival," introducing and preparing "Aojio porridge." The 29th day of the first lunar month marks the unique "Aojio Festival" in Fuzhou, during which people cook sweet porridge using a variety of ingredients to honor their ancestors, gift friends and family, and show respect to their parents. Today, this traditional festival has become Fuzhou’s Respect for the Elderly Day and is listed as the seventh batch of provincial-level intangible cultural heritage representative items in Fujian Province.
