TOKYO, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack on Wednesday near Nagano Station, where three people were stabbed, leaving one dead and two injured, local media reported Sunday.
The suspect, identified as Yusuke Yaguchi, is a resident of Nagano City. The police entered his apartment located about 3 km from the attack scene and made the arrest on Sunday, according to national broadcaster NHK.
The suspect has remained silent during police questioning, the report said.
According to the police, the victims had no prior connection to the suspect. Authorities are treating the case as a random act of violence. ■
