Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the Alvorada Palace, the official residence of the Brazilian president, in Brasilia, November 20, 2024.
President Xi put forth a few suggestions on developing the bilateral relations in the future. "China places fight against poverty at a prominent position in state governance, and supports Brazil’s Zero Hunger program," he said.
The Zero Hunger program, a signature initiative of President Lula’s administration, seeks to combat food insecurity and improve living standards for vulnerable populations.
Both sides underscored the importance of leveraging technology to reduce poverty, such as through advanced farming techniques and digital solutions to improve supply chains.
