BEIJING, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Crime thriller "A Place Called Silence" topped the Chinese mainland box office chart with a revenue of 52.24 million yuan (about 7.33 million U.S. dollars) on Thursday, according to the China Movie Data Information Network.
Directed by Sam Quah, who also made the 2019 hit film "Sheep Without a Shepherd," the movie delves into the topic of campus bullying and is expected to be a highlight among this summer's box office lineup.
It was followed by the domestic drama "Moments We Shared," which pocketed 12.26 million yuan.
Disney and Pixar's animated film "Inside Out 2" came in third with a daily earning of 9.12 million yuan on the day.
The total box office revenue on the Chinese mainland on Thursday stood at 90.54 million yuan.
