Surging ahead: China's Renewable Energy

China's installed capacity of renewable energy exceeded 1.45 billion kilowatts in 2023, accounting for more than 50 percent of the country's total installed power generation capacity, according to data released by the National Energy Administration. The installed capacity of solar power generation reached 0.66 billion kilowatts with a year-on-year increase of 55 percent. The installed capacity of wind power generation reached about 0.46 billion kilowatts, up 21.5 percent year-on-year. The cumulative utilization hours of hydroelectric power generation equipment nationwide increased by 11 percent year-on-year.
