BEIJING, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Shandong Taishan head coach Choi Kang-Hee confirmed that his defenders Jadson and Liu Yang are set to miss Friday's Chinese Super League (CSL) game at Chengdu Rongcheng through injury.
"These two players are suffering from minor injuries and requested time to have treatment and recovery," said Choi.
"Admittedly, we need rotation. It's true they can play with pain-killing injections, but we still have many games to play this season. So we chose not to take the risk," he said.
The Shandong side, currently sitting seventh in the CSL table, will try to end the five-game winning streak of the second-placed Chengdu team in the absence of Jadson and Liu, according Choi.
"We did sufficient specific training for this game as well as adequate analysis of our opponents. They are in good form, but we are well prepared," he added. ■
