Xinjiang Dance Performance Viral across China

Video shows China's Uyghur actress Dilraba Dilmurat performing a stunning Xinjiang dance during the 2024 CCTV Spring Festival Gala. This year, the CCTV Spring Festival Gala made history by establishing a branch venue in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. Kashgar in southwestern Xinjiang showcased its rich cultural diversity with a grand show given by a group of prominent figures from Xinjiang, such as singer Wang Hongwei, actress Dilraba Dilmurat, rapper Air and actor Yu Menglong. The directing team incorporated the Uygur tradition of singing and dancing on rooftops into the performance by utilizing both large stages and residential rooftops.
