Senior Lao official hails China-Laos Railway as vibrant example of fruitful BRI cooperation

Sommad Pholsena, vice president of the Lao National Assembly spoke highly of the high-quality “Belt and Road” cooperation between China and Laos, saying that the China-Laos Railway project is at the forefront.

The China-Laos Railway officially opened for business on December 3, 2021. Passenger train services have been available in both directions between Kunming and Vientiane.

Sommad pointed out that the two countries’ cooperation in infrastructure construction brought tangible benefits to the Lao economy and the lives of the Lao people. He hailed the China-Laos Railway for promoting personnel exchanges, improving the development environment and unleashing economic potentials.
