Dongheng Village: From mining community to a flourishing piano cultural park

Dongheng Village, in Deqing County of Zhejiang Province, was once a large mining community with up to 13 mining companies at its peak. The extensive mining activities left behind large areas of mine pits, leading to severe ecological damage in Dongheng Village.

In recent years, the village has taken significant steps to address these issues. Firstly, all stone mining enterprises were shut down, and efforts were made to rehabilitate and fill in the mining pits to improve the village's environment. In 2016, a plan was initiated to establish a 680-acre Piano Cultural Park in Dongheng Village, and currently, 46 piano-related businesses have already set up operations in the park.
